Ceptu FieldSense

The FieldSense app from Ceptu provides critical information about crop development in the past and present, based on frequently updated satellite imagery.

During the agricultural season, crops face dangers that can lead to drops in yield and revenue. FieldSense utilizes top-rated satellite technology to monitor crops, so that farmers and crop consultants can check on their fields remotely, and quickly react if problems occur.

Product Description

Farmers know that monitoring fields and staying alert are key to reducing threats to crop growth and revenue. Get an overview of your fields and prioritize manual monitoring to avoid losing precious time to respond to threats. Detect potential problems early during growth seasons and reduce treatment costs or use of fertilizers and pesticides. Monitor crops fast and frequently by receiving weekly satellite images. Data from previous seasons can be reviewed and compared whenever necessary. In this way, precision farming becomes easier and more sustainable with high resolution earth observation imagery over time.

FieldSense utilizes satellite technology to measure the chlorophyll content of crops. Based on this result, biomass maps are generated and illustrated visually. The application currently provides true-color satellite imagery, biomass maps indicating crop vitality, and variation maps that highlight abnormalities within a field. FieldSense provides satellite imagery with a spatial resolution of up to 10 m2 and a temporal resolution of 7 to 10 days for your area of interest. Use the mobile app, available in the iOS and Google store, or a standard web browser. Users of this service will not have to handle the data, process imagery themselves, or install or update software.

The application currently provides:

  • True-color satellite imagery
  • Biomass maps that indicate the vitality of the crops
  • Variation maps that highlight heterogeneities within a field
